Dan Gable is acknowledged many while the greatest newbie wrestler in U. S. history. He’s known by many people to be a good coach, wrestler, and friend. He was thought to be the nations around the world most powerful wrestling instructor. Gable is known as a brilliant wrestler (Garlits thirty four and Lippy 161).

Dan Gable was developed on October 25, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa. He started his wrestling career in junior high school. He then attended West High School. While at Western world High School Gable went on to further improve his fumbling skills by winning three straight competition in a line (Garlits 34).

Gable continuing his wrestling career at the college of Iowa Condition. During his years in Iowa State he earned the NCAA 130-pound subject as a sophomore and the 137 weight school as a jr .. He was called outstanding wrestler of the competition. Gable was undefeated starting his final match of his older year. Now he was 180-0 for his high school and college career. Gables last meet was against Larry Owings in 1970. Owings was a sophomore from Washington State College. Gable was winning by two points with twenty-seven mere seconds left.
