Oldboy is a Southern Korean thriller directed by Park Chan Wook. I actually watched this movie a year ago when my pal Mahad almost forced me to watch it. At the time We wasnt in to foreign videos, but Oldboy surprised me personally. The movie was strange and yet a powerful history of vengeance that would by no means be experimented with by a big american studio room. The outstanding acting, amazing build up, and dark distort made this movie a cult favorite and one of my own all instances favorite films. This film is about Outdated Dae Su who is a drunk that fights with his wife.
A single night although he was proceeding home to give his child her birthday present he is captured. He is jailed for 15 years in a small room after which released. This movie centers around his journey to find his captor and find out the truth about why having been imprisoned. Minutes Sik Choi is amazing in his modification from an ugly drunk to a monster. He makes you understand him even when he demonstrate his errors. Ji tae yu is eerily weird in his part as Lee woo jin, keeping his calm over the whole video while acting like a maniac.
The performing from the cast makes the audience fully committed to figuring out the mystery. What makes this movie unique is definitely the buildup that occurs that leads to the ending. The director will do a great job of building up the pressure while little by little revealing the best secret. He did that simply by times in the story pertaining to comic comfort that endeared us for the characters so you are invested in the personas. Also this movie experienced some of rawest fighting moments of all time making it a complete film. Even though I find the plot exclusive, the storys twist may put off various people that observed the movie.
As well the times of violence can be extremely bloody and gruesome. Some individuals can not stomach watching all this to find out the mystery. The theme of vengeance can also be complicated to people who did not watch the earlier videos of the three set. Even though the stories of the three set are different the films share one common theme that is explored.
