In the book Tangerine simply by Edward Bloor, Paul produced many choices, equally good and bad, and a lot of the time Paul’s choices concluded with bad results. One example is during the awards ceremony to get the Lake Windsor Lows high school football team, Medida and Victor beat up Erik (Erik can be Paul’s elderly brother) and Arthur Bauer ( Erik’s best friend). Right when ever Arthur and Erik received beat up, the football team and the sports coaches attempted to catch Tino and Victor and when that happened Paul jumped over a coach to help them get away.
When Paul attacked the coach having been later expelled from Tangerine Middle College. Also when Paul was hiding underneath the bleachers once Luis Jones confronted Erik and Arthur, Paul decided not to speak up and stop the fight ahead of it started out and the battle caused an aneurism which ultimately murdered Luis Johnson. After Luis Cruz passed away Paul believed guilty because he knew this individual could’ve avoided his death.
Paul has also manufactured good choices that had great results. A good choice Paul made was playing sports for Tangerine Middle Institution.
It affected Paul because he made various friends on the soccer team. Great choice was standing up to his older brother Erik. All of Paul’s your life he had recently been scared of his brother but as the novel progressed, Paul’s courage started to build. Nearby the end in the novel Paul realized Erik and Arthur were losers and that just their own choices would simply affect these people. Paul finally stood up to them and that made Erik and Arthur realize that Paul wasn’t worried. One significant choice Paul made was when he was up to Erik and Arthur. It happened when ever Arthur and Erik were saying, “You’re going to pay money for what happened tonight (Page 261), and Arthur kept duplicating whatever Erik said and Paul received fed up and said, ” Come on Erik let’s find out if you can do any better with me than you did with Tino(Page261).
From then on Paul said you killed Luis Johnson and Erik got upset slammed the baseball baseball bat on the ground, and hit Arthur’s car. Paul made the decision because he understood Arthur and Erik were just thugs who acted like difficult guys and this Paul was just sick and tired with them performing like that therefore he received fed up with their act and stood approximately them to demonstrate to them he wasn’t scared of them anymore.
One other significant choice made by Paul was he demanded he get to head to Tangerine Middle section School. He made the choice once his friends and family was at a mass conference after a sinkhole destroyed Lake Windsor Downs Middle University. Pauldemanded he got to head to Tangerine Central School and play for soccer team. Paul made his mom truly feel guilty when he said, “Mom, you destroyed my life for Lake Windsor Middle at the time you turned in that IEP.

His parents discussed it and finally agreed to let Paul have what he wanted and he got to head to Tangerine Midsection School thus he can play on their particular soccer team. Paul’s reaction to the selection being made was he believed that the heavens had opened for him because he finally got what he needed.
A positive decision Paul made was he decided to help save the Cruceta family’s trees and shrubs during the big freeze. The selection was made because Paul desired to help the Cruz family because they were his friends. Paul had injure his friendship with Tino Cruz with a previous choice that resulted in Tino getting in trouble. If he offered to help, Tino’s close friend asked Paul why having been helping. Paul said, “Because we’re all Battle Eagles, mentioning his and Tinos’ team. (Page218) This affected Paul by restoring his camaraderie with Tino.
Paul manufactured many choices throughout the novel, several choices were good plus some were negative, but no matter what every choice had some sort of effect on Paul. If Paul had chose to step in once Luis involved to deal with Erik, Luis wouldn’t have got died. Paul did mean well but this individual just failed to have the courage to do the right thing. Paul has made many choices throughout the new. Paul grown up throughout the new and learned from his choices and gained courage.
