Persons find joy in multiple ways; through relationships, mother nature, religion, and many other ways. In a letter to Franz, Alex writes, “You are incorrect if you think happiness emanates only or primarily from other types of relationships.

God offers placed it all around us” (57). McCandless knew that although it is nice to acquire relationships you will discover happiness in nature and that is where he found true joy. “He can be smiling in the picture, and no mistaking the look in the eyes: Chris McCandless was at peace, peaceful as a monk gone to God” (199). Having been happy because he finally found true delight. McCandless located happiness in manners most would not, once he found what made him completely happy he attacked in no matter what the consequences were. “In a final postcard this individual sent to David Westerberg, McCandless had written, if perhaps this adventure proves perilous and you may ever listen to me once again I want you to know if you’re a great person. I now walk into the wild” (133). He wrote this to admit the chance that he might not really survive. He does not want to expire but this individual knows that he is embarking on elegance adventure.

McCandless also feels that the entire adventure will be worth it, nevertheless , for the real experience of living completely on their own and openly, and his enjoyment was portrayed at the end in the final postcard to Westerberg. People referred to as McCandless foolish for his mistakes but everyone makes mistakes. “Instead of feeling distraught over this turn of events, in addition, McCandless was exhilarated: He saw the flash avalanche as a way to shed pointless baggage” (29). Although selection a mistake of sleeping within an area where there are flash floods and lost his car, he accepted it and used it as a way to receive further in to his excitement by just living off what he required. “Chastity and moral chastity were features McCandless mulled over long and often” (65). Although Chris made fatal blunders he recognized what was right and incorrect and would think about it a whole lot. McCandless total had value and great morals nevertheless made perilous mistakes which will led to his death. “Awkwardly, stiff with fear, I actually started operating my long ago down. The rime little by little thickened.

After descending about eighty toes, I got again on fairly solid surface. I halted for a long time to leave my nerves settle, then simply leaned backside from my tools and stared up at the face above, searching for a hint of solid ice cubes, for some variance in the fundamental rock strata, for anything that would allow passage over the liquid slabs. (137)” That offer really points out what a courageous man he’s and how he can overcome hurdles that the other folks like Rosellini, McCunn, and Waterman could hardly. People who would not think McCandless was courageous thought having been a young foolish man who caused a large number of pain with his leaving and death. Frank did make faults but thus did others and that does not always mean he is foolish. He did not want to cause others pain although he necessary to start fresh and faraway from everyone this individual knew. “Alex is a nut in my publication, ” wrote a homeowner of Healy, the hamlet at the head in the Stampede Path. “The publisher describes a person who has given away a small fortune, forsaken a living family members, abandoned his car, watch and map and burned up the last of his cash before traipsing off in to the ‘wilderness’ western world of Healy”(71). Although McCandless did all these things, he made it happen to have a fresh start.

He would not want to be held back from nearly anything and in the end it produced him content. A reader of the Outside the house magazine asked, “Why will any son cause his parents and family this sort of permanent and perplexing soreness? “(71) McCandless did not want to trigger his family and friends pain but ended up leading to them pain since the only way this individual could find accurate happiness was to leave everybody he adored. Although some will not be able to begin to see the reasons McCandless left all his chances and loved ones behind to go on an excursion that triggered him his death, this individual only achieved it because that was those that have made him cheerful. Chris McCandless was a child that gone against culture and found happiness in items most people would be afraid to try. He previously the braveness it took to visit against contemporary society to find his happiness and although he made mistakes he did what he enjoyed even if persons thought he was foolish. Persons should not assess others so that they do that makes them completely happy and staying brave enough to do something different than what the majority of do.
